About Us
Our small Society is successful and this year will conduct the 98th Agricultural Show with gate and competitor numbers increasing each year. An enthusiastic committee of younger and older members has ensured that our Show remains strong in times when many towns are contemplating the loss of this important annual event.
Committee positions and section stewards are elected each year at our annual general meeting usually conducted in April. A head steward is appointed in each show section, from flowers to students, poultry to woodchopping. It is the stewards responsibility to co‑ordinate their section (with the assistance of our secretary) and prepare for the annual show. Each steward is elected because of their time, dedication and often hands‑on experience with their section. Their knowledge of entry guidelines, competition classes, judging and show competition is essential to the overall success of our show. Many volunteers assist our Show Society behind the scenes preparing buildings and displays and on show weekend itself assisting with ribbons, judging, gate keeping, washing dishes and more !! Help is always welcomed and like any community organisation, new ideas, a fresh outlook and volunteer assistance is invaluable.
Monthly meetings are held by our Show Society on the first Tuesday of each month, conducted at 7.30pm, at Dangar Falls Lodge you are welcome to join us. Please email our show secretary if you are interested in joining us as a volunteer or committee member or if you would like to be put in touch with our executive committee.

A brief history
The first Dorrigo & Guy Fawkes Show was held in 1910, in Mrs Corks paddock fronting the Bielsdown Creek. The move to the present Showground was in 1915, when the Show had 1,600 entries. At that time, locals also used the new ground as a golf course. Early shows staged district exhibits from Deervale, North Dorrigo, Dorrigo and Maynards Plain with many shows held in very wet conditions.
There are many more Dorrigo Show tales to be told and we welcome your input to the compilation of our show history, a project we would like to complete for our 100th Show in 2011.
